Phase Three Beer Dinner

It’s time: Niche in Geneva is set to present its Niche S-023 imperial stout, which was aged for 25 months in an Eagle Rare cask, at a special Phase Three Beer dinner at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27. The $125 per person dinner includes four courses and a bottle of specialty beer. Dine on smoked short rib flautas accompanied by P3 Mexican Lager; pan-fried Arctic char accompanied by Pixel Density (hazy IPA); peach-brined pork loin with Interstellar Illusions (seasonal); and tiramisu-style bread pudding paired with Niche S-023. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Only reservations will be taken by phone.

Want to taste new wines? Wildfire hosts Hope Family Wine Dinners that will give wine lovers the opportunity to try vintage wines from the Paso Robles region of California while learning about them from a winery representative. The five-course dinner consists of spicy crab dip and vegetable sushi rolls accompanied by Treana Blanc; seared coho salmon with Treana Chardonnay; Lamb chops grilled with 8 spices served with Treana Cabernet Sauvignon; artisan cheeses paired with Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon; and a dark chocolate mousse cake with Quest Red Wine. The $120 dinners are at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 25 at Oak Brook; 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, in Chicago; and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 28 in Lincolnshire.

Cigars and Whiskey

For the first time, Durty Nellie’s is hosting a cigar and whiskey dinner featuring a four-course meal (app, salad or soup, steak and dessert) paired with Laws Four Grain Straight Bourbon, San Luis Valley Rye, San Luis Valley 7 Year Bonded Rye and Centennial Straight Wheat whisky. Additionally, there will be three cigars to try, including Oliva Connecticut Toro, Romeo 1875 Toro, and Bolivar Cofradia Toro. Sand and surf

Louie’s Bar brings the beach to diners with its limited-time surf-inspired menu items through October 4. The Lu-au Burger is topped with BBQ pulled pork, grilled pineapple ring, macadamia island slaw and garlic aioli over grilled King’s Hawaiian. buns, while tropical fruit-laden donut holes are topped with lime cream, diced pineapple, toasted coconut, whipped cream, amarena cherry, and powdered sugar. For a refreshing non-alcoholic drink, consider the Island Hopper, which is a blend of orange, guava, passion fruit, sparkling water, and lime. Or, there’s the Aloha Punch (Bacardi Tropical, orange, passion fruit, and guava topped with a wedge of pineapple, an amarena cherry, and a sprig of mint). For every product sold, a $1 donation will go towards supporting World Central Kitchen.
