Powerscourt Distillery announces the second whiskey in its Estate Series, “The Italian Gardens”

This year, the Powerscourt Distillery pays homage to the inspiring “Italian Gardens”, the centerpiece of the famous Powerscourt Gardens, voted 3rd best gardens in the world by National Geographic.

In 2021 the first of the Estate series was launched and named to give a nod of respect to their trademark Fercullen house – the nearly 300 year old mill. ‘The Mill House’ sold out within weeks, expression two is expected to be in high demand.

John Cashman, new Head of Whiskey and Product Development at Powerscourt Distillery, Icons of Whiskey award winner and international wine and spirits judge, has worked at several distilleries under the Beam Suntory umbrella.



Having worked alongside distillery founding master distiller Noel Sweeney for many years at Cooley, John retains unique knowledge of Fercullen whiskeys old and new and has combined an exceptional 19-year-old Fercullen malt with an Amarone cask finish. of Italian influence, skilfully blended with a very special 12-year-old grain. Irish Whiskey, delivering an exceptional whisky.

Having established its core range of award-winning Fercullen Irish Whiskeys – 8 Year Old Blend, 10 Year Old Single Grain, 14 Year Old Single Malt and 18 Year Old Single Malt, Powerscourt Distillery is adding to its range with the Estate Series with the launch of the second edition ‘The Italian gardens’.
