Augie’s Alamo City BBQ, which has served smoked meat in downtown SA for over 20 years, has added a new beer and whiskey-focused outdoor bar, Brazed.

The Boulevardier Group, which operated the artisan cocktail havens Brooklynite and Still Golden Social House, are leading the new project, which will include an expanded patio, a new bar program and revamped pub meals.

“There is no cool shit, just accessible drinks,” Jeret Peña, managing partner of the Boulevardier Group, told the Running. “The bar program focuses on restaurants, not cocktails.”

Peña and her partners enlarged the space of the existing patio so that it spanned almost the entire length of the south side of the restaurant. They also worked with the Augie team to create a “hybrid” menu of barbecue and pub style dishes, starting with bites like sliders, nachos, fries and queso.

“I’m excited because we have food, we have cocktails, we have this huge, beautiful outdoor space,” Peña said. “And we provide an extremely safe environment for our staff and our guests.”

Brazed is located inside Augie’s Alamo City BBQ at 909 Broadway St. The bar is open Wednesday through Sunday, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
