Walsh Whiskey, based in Carlow, South West Dublin, Ireland, has The Irishman’s portfolio focused on the Irish single malt among its offerings. Considered a tip of the hat to Ireland’s so-called “Golden Era of Irish Whiskey” in the 19th century, the latest release to emerge from this range is the 2022/14 edition of The Irishman Vintage Cask.
The 2022 The Irishman Vintage Cask, according to its makers, is a 6,100-bottle worldwide release that consists of a blend of triple-distilled and aged Irish single malt and single pot still whiskeys. JThe barrels used for this annual vintage are hand-selected by The Irishman founder, Bernard Walsh, with this year’s release being unchill-filtered and bottled at 54.9% ABV.
“The Irishman Cask Strength Series is an annual celebration of one of Irish whiskey’s greatest traditions,” Walsh said in a prepared statement. “A revival, brought back by The Irishman in 2008, which helps to highlight a style of whiskey at the heart of the golden age of Irish whisky. The 2022 vintage of The Irishman Vintage Cask is a whiskey full of character, strength, depth and body, but with a surprising sweetness that ripples on the tongue.
