March 15, 2022 (New York, NY) – During this Women’s History Month, Women of the Vine & Spirits (WOTVS) announces its new university and college membership with its first member, Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management (FIU). WOTVS University and College Membership, the newest addition to the organization’s current membership offerings, supports WOTVS’ mission by cultivating the next generation of beverage alcohol leaders, presenting career opportunities within the industry and by nurturing the talent pool of their corporate members with diverse candidates. .

University and college membership provides students of the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management, FIU Bacardi Center of Excellence access to the wealth of WOTVS content and resources, including educational and pathway programs career paths focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), business development and innovation (BD&I), and personal and professional development, while expanding students’ knowledge of broad career paths across the within the hospitality and alcoholic beverage industry. WOTVS invites other universities and colleges around the world to join and grow the membership category.

University and college membership gives students year-round access to unique educational opportunities, networking, and mentorship. This includes access to the organization’s membership directory with opportunities to connect with industry leaders; an event calendar packed with engaging content from industry professionals and outside experts; a resource library filled with relevant articles and training materials; Scholarship opportunities through the WOTVS Foundation; and a Job Board with vacancies and direct contact with member companies that are hiring.

“Our university and college membership provides students with first-hand knowledge from industry professionals and access to actively working professionals in positions they can choose to explore, while introducing them to the opportunities the industry has to offer,” said Deborah Brenner, Founder and CEO of Women of Vine & Spirits. “In turn, our corporate members can tap into the student’s innovative ideas and visions for the future.

In addition, active students of the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management will be able to include their WOTVS University and College affiliation on their CV as well as the completion of any training taken under the program. These training programs include training in sexual misconduct prevention and response, delivered by RAINN, the nation’s largest sexual violence organization. WOTVS offers these RAINN trainings in partnership with Corporate Member Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) as part of an ongoing initiative to support stakeholders in the hospitality and alcoholic beverage industry.

After graduation, participants will receive a free one-year individual membership (a value of $150/year) to continue networking and further their personal and professional development as they begin their careers in the industry. hotels and alcoholic beverages.
